Ingredients

  • Beef or lamb, 800 g, in large pieces
  • Unsweetened groundnut paste, 250 g
  • Onion, 2 large
  • Tomato paste, 2 tbsp
  • Cassava and sweet potato
  • Chilli, bay leaf, stock cube

Method

  1. 01

Brown the meat with the onions.

  2. 02

Loosen the groundnut paste with warm water until it pours.

  3. 03

Add the tomato paste, then the groundnut paste, and let it cook down slowly.

  4. 04

Add the vegetables and simmer, stirring often so the bottom does not catch.

  5. 05

It is ready when the oil rises to the surface. Serve with white rice.

The story of the dish

Maafe travelled with the Mandé world and changed at every stop: lamb here, chicken there, sometimes no meat at all.
